World Bank, ADB, and AFD delegations contact MD NTDC

LAHORE – Three World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Agence Française de Developpement (AFD) teams met separately with NTDC Managing Director Engr. Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan today at WAPDA House Lahore to evaluate the status of different existing and planned projects.

The foreign delegations of the lenders, along with the PMU NTDC teams, briefed the Managing Director NTDC on the developments and challenges of foreign funded projects included in the NTMP-I (WB), MFF-II programme (ADB), and proposed projects for AFD’s loan, namely the 500 kV Sialkot, 500 kV Vehari, and 220 kV Arifwala Substations.

NTDC’s Managing Director underlined the need of completing these development projects on schedule in order to fulfil the rising demand for power in their respective locations.

He advocated for the modernisation of the NTDC grid system via the use of contemporary supervisory control systems. He also invited the delegates to collaborate with NTDC teams to take the first step towards implementing smart grids in NTDC. Sharing technical expertise on developing technologies in the power industry, as well as training of NTDC engineers, were also discussed.
