‘Let’s not go any farther, The BCCI president has issued a statement in response to the Virat Kohli situation.

Following a spat between former Indian captain Virat Kohli and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly, the latter attempted to clear the air on social media, stating, “let’s not take this forward.”

“Let’s not take this any further,” Ganguly told an Indian news site. I have nothing to say. It’s a BCCI issue. BCCI will handle it.”

Previously, Kohli has refuted all of Ganguly’s claims that the board had requested the star player to reconsider his choice.

“I was never instructed that I shouldn’t step down as T20I captain.” Before resigning as T20I captain, I informed the BCCI. “I informed them my point of view,” he remarked earlier this week during a press conference.

“I promised them I will remain as ODI and Test captain,” the 33-year-old players said. At that moment, I informed them that if the office bearers or selectors don’t want me to undertake any of the responsibilities, that’s alright with me. When I contacted the BCCI to discuss my T20I captaincy, I said this unequivocally.”

His remarks came after Ganguly revealed that the BCCI had asked Virat not to stand down as T20I captain, but he refused. “And then the selectors didn’t believe it was proper to have two different captains for two white-ball versions,” he explained.

His remarks sparked widespread outrage across the country, with Kohli supporters still demanding answers from the BCCI and Ganguly.

The Indian red-ball side, captained by Virat Kohli, is in Johannesburg, South Africa, for a three-match Test series against the Proteas.
