LAHORE (A News) – An accountability court charged former Chief Minister Parvez Elahi and others in a corruption case.
The Lahore accountability court heard an alleged corruption case involving Gujarati development projects. Elahi and the other suspects pled not guilty to the accusations.
Accountability Court Judge Rana Arif presided over the hearings and invited witnesses for the reference on January 29.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted a supplemental reference following the inclusion of two new defendants in the case.
In December 2023, the NAB filed a corruption reference in Lahore’s accountability court against Elahi, his son Moonis, and 11 others, saying that they received Rs1.23 billion in bribes in connection with Gujarat development project contracts.
The father-son combo has been designated as major suspects, with the reference claiming that they got the biggest kickbacks of any group, totaling Rs744 million.
