ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court has set hearings on crucial constitutional disputes, including the military courts case and petitions alleging manipulation in the February 8 elections.

According to the constitutional bench’s cause list for January 6-10, the military courts matter is scheduled to be heard on January 7.

A constitutional appeal filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, claiming rigging in the February 8 elections, will be heard on January 8, along with another case on electoral anomalies filed by MNA Sher Afzal Marwat.

The proceedings will be held before a seven-member constitutional bench led by Justice Aminuddin Khan. The bench also includes Justices Jamal Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Musarrat Hilali, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Shahid Bilal Hassan.

On January 8, the bench will hear a review petition on the Punjab Assembly deputy speaker’s order, as well as the missing people issue.

Moreover, the constitutional bench will hear Hamza Shahbaz’s review appeal on January 9.

On January 10, the Supreme Court will hear a petition challenging the discretionary powers of the high court chief justices. The court will also hear a lawsuit over the ban on student unions on the same day.
