One day after the political leader of the party was assassinated in Tehran, the Israeli military announced on Thursday that Mohammed Deif, the commander of Hamas’ military arm, had died in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza last month.

Mohammed Deif is thought to have been one of the masterminds of the attack on southern Israel on October 7 by Hamas.

According to an intelligence assessment, it can be verified that Mohammed Deif was killed in the strike. The IDF (Israel Defence Forces) announced that on July 13, 2024, fighter jets hit in the Khan Yunis area.
