RAWALPINDI: In the Toshakhana case, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years in prison each on Wednesday by an Accountability Court.
On December 19, last year, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a referral against PTI founder and wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.
The decision was delivered by AC Judge Muhammad Bashir. The PTI founder and his wife were also barred from holding any public office for ten years.
The judge also imposed a punishment of Rs787 million.
Bushra Bibi, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), did not appear in court today.
When questioned about his statement of 342, the former prime minister responded, “The statement is in the room; I was only summoned to appear before the court.”
The judge urged Imran Khan to give his statement quickly and said, “Don’t waste court time.”
“The lawyers haven’t arrived yet; I’ll submit the statement after showing them,” said the PTI founder before leaving the courtroom.
