On December 12, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the party vice chairman, and Imran Khan, the former head of the PTI, will face charges related to the cipher case.
Monday saw the continuation of the public trial for former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and deposed Prime Minister Imran Khan in Adiala Jail.
The hearing for the cipher case against PTI leaders was presided over by Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain.
FIA Special Prosecutors want to be given copies of the case during today’s hearing.
PTI attorneys requested that the prosecution challenge the decision to provide the documents to the High Court.
During the hearing, Imran Khan spoke casually with the media and revealed that the cipher was really provided to General Qamar Jawed Bajwa, the previous COAS. He said that Gen. Bajwa acted on the instructions of former US ambassador Donald Lu.
Imran Khan pleaded with the judge to call Donald Lu and Gen. Bajwa into court.
The head of the PTI added that Shah Mahmood Qureshi had happened to get the cipher by coincidence.
The former prime minister said he was detained as part of a plot and forecast that his party will win the elections on February 8.
Khan also addressed the accusations made against him by Bushra Bibi’s ex-husband Khawar Maneka, who claimed that Khan had never before seen his wife’s face following their nikkah.
“I would choose to die in jail, but I will never give up; the nation must know that their captain is standing firm against oppression,” said PTI Chairman.
