LONDON- On Monday, UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly spoke with Caretaker PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar on issues of mutual interest.
The resumed PIA flights and issues pertaining to all areas of shared interest, such as complex bilateral ties, were discussed at the meeting.
The two sides also concurred on the necessity of improving ties in all areas where there is a chance of gain.
The 1.6 million-strong British Pakistani diaspora was recognized by both sides as playing a positive role in fostering the long-standing and close connections between the two countries.
The UK side praised Pakistan for sheltering Afghan nationals and assisting their evacuation for subsequent relocation.
The UK Foreign Secretary accepted PM Kakar’s offer to visit Pakistan and was happy to do so.
