ISLAMABAD : On Saturday, the caretaker government selected Riffat Mukhtar, a senior official of Pakistan’s Police Service, as Inspector-General of Police Sindh.

Mukhtar has taken over for Ghulam Nabi Memon, who has been assigned to the Establishment Division.

Riffat Raja has previously held positions like as Regional Police Officer (RPO) Multan and Additional IG Establishment.

The news comes only a day after the Prime Minister’s caretaker administration took their oath of office ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections.

The caretaker government moved and posted key bureaucrats on Friday.

Captain (r) Muhammad Mehmood has been moved and posted as secretary food, Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash has been appointed as secretary housing, and Syed Asif Haider Shah has been assigned as secretary climate change.

Humaira Ahmed was appointed secretary culture, Syed Ali Murtaza was appointed secretary interior, and Dawood Breach was appointed chief secretary Azad Kashmir Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan has been appointed. He formerly served as federal secretary of Housing and Works Division.

Dr. Kamran Ali Afzal was appointed cabinet division federal secretary, Abdullah Khan Sumbal was appointed additional secretary in the interior ministry, and Hasan Nasir was appointed IT secretary.
