BAJAUR (A News) – On Sunday, a suicide bomber targeted the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers’ convention in Bajaur’s Khar district, leaving at least 40 people dead and 80 injured.

JUI-F Maulana Ziaullah Jan, the head of Khar Tehsil, died in the assault as well. More than 150 injured people had been taken to the Bajaur District Headquarters Hospital, according to Bajaur District Health Officer Faisal Kamal, while those who were in severe condition were sent to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) in Peshawar.

At the time of the explosion, MNA Jamaluddin and former senator Abdur Rasheed were also in attendance at the JUI-F workers’ convention.

Following the explosion, Jamaluddin was unharmed, according to JUI-F provincial spokesperson Jalil Jan.
