The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) filed an appeal on Tuesday against a trial court verdict that found the Toshakhana case against the party chairman maintainable.

PTI lawyer Gohar Khan has petitioned the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to overturn the trial court’s decision.

A district and sessions court affirmed its previous verdict last week, declaring the PTI chairman’s Toshakhana case acceptable.

Additional Meetings Judge Humayun Dilawar issued the reserved verdict earlier in the day after rejecting a motion submitted by PTI counsel Gohar Khan requesting extension of the case until Monday. The lawsuit has been postponed until July 12.
