Carlo Ancelotti, the Italian coach of Real Madrid, will take over as head coach of Brazil’s national team for the Copa America in 2024, according to a source from the Brazilian Football Federation on Tuesday.

The federation had previously declared that Fluminense’s Fernando Diniz would lead the team in the meantime.

Carlo Ancelotti has one season left on his Real Madrid contract and will take over Brazil in time for the Copa America, which will be hosted in the United States beginning in June 2024.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea coach will be the country’s first foreign coach in nearly sixty years.
