Awn Chaudhry, leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), petitioned the Supreme Court on Thursday to prohibit the operations of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Awn Chaudhry filed the petition on his own behalf. He argued in the plea that the PTI’s activities were against the laws of the country since the leadership incited attacks on national institutions and martyr memorials.

The application sought a halt to PTI operations, claiming they were a threat to state and national institutions.
