According to media reports, conflicts over how to purchase LNG from Azerbaijan led former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to quit from the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
This move comes in response to PM Shehbaz Sharif’s Friday declaration that there was room in the PML-N, the ruling party, for people who were critical of and plotting against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to sources, Abbasi was against the government-to-government agreement but in favour of a private company importing LNG.
