On Wednesday, a much-anticipated meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and deputy leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Lahore’s Zaman Park ended without the release of a “joint statement.”
Mr Qureshi, who was freed from jail after nearly a month the other day, stayed with the party president for about an hour before leaving in haste, despite promises of a news conference.
According to sources, Mr Qureshi and the PTI head met privately behind closed doors. On the party website, the PTI social media released only one photo of the leaders.
Before the meeting, there were suspicions that they would debate the next steps to take if the party chairman was disqualified.
