Following a meeting with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that Sweden, Finland, and Turkey will get together later this month to try to resolve issues that have caused Sweden’s NATO membership application to be postponed.

Turkey confirmed Finland’s application for membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in March, but the country, along with Hungary, is still opposed to Sweden joining the alliance.

According to Turkey, Stockholm is home to militants who are part of terrorist organisations.

In response to Turkey’s worries, “Sweden has taken significant concrete steps to meet those concerns,” Stoltenberg told reporters, alluding to a constitutional amendment and increased counterterrorism cooperation between Stockholm and Ankara.
