(Web Desk) – WhatsApp has released a new feature called Chat Lock, which allows users to safeguard their most private chats with an extra layer of protection.

Locking a chat thread removes it from the inbox and places it in its own folder that can only be accessed with your device password or biometric, such as a fingerprint. It also conceals the contents of the conversation in alerts automatically.

“We think this feature will be great for people who need to share their phones with a family member from time to time, or for those times when someone else is holding your phone at the exact moment an extra special chat arrives.” By touching the name of a one-on-one or group conversation and choosing the lock option, you may lock it. “Slowly pull down on your inbox and enter your phone password or biometric to reveal these chats,” according to the company’s blog.

The messaging software intends to expand Chat Lock features, such as locking for companion devices and generating a bespoke password for conversations, so that users may use a password that is distinct from the one they use for their phone.
