The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has requested the ruling political coalition to refrain from staging a sit-in in protest of the court’s claimed preference for PTI chairman Imran Khan, which might risk the judiciary’s integrity and functioning.
To avert any unexpected events, Supreme Court Registrar Ishrat Ali called a security briefing with the Islamabad administration and police.
On Friday, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition planned a demonstration against the judiciary, led by JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The sit-in will take place outside the Supreme Court building on Constitution Avenue in Islamabad on Monday.
