LAHORE – On Thursday, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft from Dammam to Lahore utilised Indian airspace after experiencing an emergency due to bad weather in Lahore.
According to authorities, the pilot of PIA flight PK-248 diverted the jet into Indian airspace with prior permission from the Indian civil aviation authority since the plane was unable to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore owing to excessive rain.
While flying towards Multan, the pilot of the aircraft used Indian airspace. After flying over the Indian city of Firozpur, the jet successfully landed at Multan airport.
