CAIRO (AFP) – As Israel prepared for a possible broader conflict in the area, Israeli troops increased their bombings throughout the Gaza Strip on Thursday, August 8. According to Palestinian doctors, these strikes killed at least forty individuals. Israel was battling terrorists commanded by Hamas.

According to doctors, Israeli aircraft struck a group of homes in the Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza, killing at least fifteen people, and four in the adjoining Al-Nuseirat camp. Israel views Nuseirat and Bureij, two of the eight ancient camps within the densely inhabited enclave, as strongholds of armed extremists.
