(Reuters) – AS Roma has acquired Artem Dovbyk, a Ukrainian striker from last season’s LaLiga surprise packages Girona, the Serie A club announced on Friday.
The 27-year-old scored 24 goals and assisted eight times in 36 games last season for the Catalan club, which finished third after being championship contenders for most of the season.
The terms of the deal were not released, but Italian media stated that the capital club will pay approximately 38 million euros ($41.48 million) for Dovbyk.
Manager Daniele De Rossi was seeking for more attacking options for next season after Belgian Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea from a loan spell.
