Brussels (AFP) The European Union’s groundbreaking regulation on artificial intelligence went into effect on Thursday, with Brussels promising to foster innovation while respecting citizens’ rights.
Following tough and acrimonious talks, the EU enacted the world’s first comprehensive guidelines to govern AI, particularly strong systems like as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, earlier this year.
Although the guidelines were first proposed in 2021, they gained urgency when ChatGPT debuted in 2022, demonstrating generative AI’s human-like ability to produce elegant prose in seconds.
Dall-E and Midjourney are two further examples of generative AI, which can make graphics in almost any style using simple ordinary language input.
