LAHORE – Heavy monsoon rain battered Lahore and its nearby areas in the early hours of Sunday, inundating low-lying districts and disrupting power supplies.
Rain was reported in several parts of the city, including Shimla Pahari, Lakshmi Chowk, Abbot Road, Canal Road, Qartaba Chowk, Davies Road, Upper Mall, and several other locations.
The period of rain in numerous parts of Lahore and surrounding areas brought solace to the weather-beaten population.
Rain disrupted power in sections of Lahore, as hundreds of feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, leaving most of the city in darkness.
