In PML-N, PPP’s most recent meeting in Dubai, common ground is still difficult

As their stalwarts kept holding in-depth conversations in Dubai, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have yet to come to an agreement on the creation of the caretaker setup.

The present National Assembly’s term is scheduled to expire on August 12 and, in accordance with the constitution, a temporary government will be put up for a period of 65 days in order to organise general elections in the nation. In the event that the assembly is prematurely dissolved, the time may increase to 90 days.
