Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was granted protective bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday in the Al-Qadir Trust case, hours after he threatened to spark widespread unrest if he were jailed once more in any other case.

Throughout the proceedings, Khan had issued a countrywide uprising in the case of his arrest warning.

A two-member special division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) postponed the hearing on Khan’s bail plea after pro-Khan shouts were heard during the first session of the hearing.

The IHC took up his bail plea after Supreme Court termed former prime minister’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case “unlawful”.
