ISLAMABAD : The Supreme Court was requested by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for the PTI leader to participate in the legal proceedings through video connection.

Imran Khan was referred to as the former prime minister and the head of the biggest party in a joint letter written by PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Secretary General Asad Umer, who also mentioned that he was removed from office through a conspiracy and a number of fabricated cases filed against him and the party.

The threat to Imran Khan’s lifer was described as “serious” given the history of the country, which has seen numerous leaders fall victim to murder attempts. It was also added in the letter that he had survived the attempt on his life and that his life would be in danger if he appeared in court personally.

The letter said that the recent Islamabad High Court appearance of the PTI chairman had security flaws and that the allegations against him were an attempt to expose him to assault. So, it was requested that the courts permit the presence through video connection.
