PESHAWAR – The Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Mahmood Jan, and two friends have been charged with murder and attempted murder in a property-related dispute.
According to the authorities, a property dispute is ongoing between Jan and Isa Khel Qum in the Sufaid Sang suburbs.
On Sunday, the deputy speaker and several colleagues began digging on the contested territory. The opposing party also arrived and objected to the digging.
Members from Jan’s side opened fire, injuring a man called Muhammad Ali. The wounded man was being transported to Lady Reading Hospital when he died on the way.
