Elon Musk stated on Tuesday that as the owner of Twitter, he will remove Donald Trump’s ban, claiming that removing him off the network “alienated a huge section of the country.”

Musk’s support for Trump’s return to the global messaging platform has activists worried that he would “open the floodgates of hatred.”

“I would revoke the permanent ban,” the billionaire stated at a Financial Times conference, adding that he does not yet control Twitter, so “this is not something that would absolutely happen.”
