Pakistan has condemned the recent horrific act of destroying the Holy Quran during Monday’s protests in Sweden. Pakistan has strongly condemned a Dutch politician’s derogatory remarks against Islam and the Muslim holy month of Ramazan.
“These dumb aggressive Islamophobic actions serve no purpose other than to inflame the sensitivities of nearly 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide,” a Foreign Office official said in a statement. Such acts are not protected by legitimate expressions of the right to free expression or opinion, which entail obligations under international human rights law, such as the need not to engage in hate speech or incite others to violence.”
