Members of the federal cabinet were given their separate ministries by a common agreement of the coalition parties.

According to reports, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Ahsan Iqbal and Rana Sanaullah have been appointed to the ministries of Planning and Development and Interior, respectively, while Azam Nazir Tarar and Marriyum Aurangzeb have been appointed to the ministries of Law and Justice and Information, respectively.

Shahzain Bugti has been assigned the portfolio of narcotics control, Federal Minister Mufti Abdul Shakoor has been assigned the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amin-ul-Haque has been assigned the portfolio of information technology and telecommunication.

Asad Mahmood, the leader of the Jamiyat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), has been assigned the minister of communication.
