The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department stated on Wednesday that an audio clip circulating on social media claiming to be from former Chief of Army Staff General (retired) Mirza Aslam Beg was a fraud.
It is part of a “disinformation and misinformation offensive directed at state institutions,” according to an ISPR statement.
An audio tape of a former army official, called Gen Baig, remarking about the propaganda campaign to demonise the Pakistan Army in the middle of a political crisis has gone viral.
Lieutenant General (retd) Haroon Aslam, on the other hand, has denied the phoney audio that has been attributed to him. “This is a nefarious and disgusting conduct by the opponent,” he said.
