In their sole Twenty20 international on Tuesday in Lahore, Pakistan, backed by in-form skipper Babar Azam, start as favourites against a depleted Australia.
With back-to-back hundreds to help Pakistan win the 50-over series at the weekend, Azam demonstrated why he is the best one-day batsman in the world, and he is just as lethal in the shorter version of the game.
Pakistan won the series 2-1 thanks to Azam’s 276 runs in three matches, which he coupled with opener Imam-ul-298, Haq’s including chasing down a record 349 in the second game.
Australia captain Aaron Finch remarked, “We were on the receiving end of a couple of magnificent knocks from Babar and Imam.”
