In an unusual geopolitical intervention for senior members of the British royal family, Prince William and his wife Kate delivered a personal letter of solidarity to “all of Ukraine’s people” on Saturday.
In a tweet signed off with their initials, the pair expressed their support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We had the honour of meeting President Zelensky and the First Lady in October 2020 to learn of their hope and excitement for Ukraine’s future,” they stated.
“Today, we stand with the President and the people of Ukraine as they fight valiantly for that future W & C.”
