In a contempt of court case, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ordered Rana Shamim, the former chief judge of Gilgit Baltistan, to submit his affidavit to the Attorney General of Pakistan.
Latif Afridi, Rana Shamim’s lawyer, requested with the court to postpone the case hearing today.
Khalid Javed, the Attorney General, appealed with the court to order Rana Shamim to submit his affidavit and list of witnesses. “After his oath and the witnesses list, the procedures will continue forward,” Khalid Javed remarked.
Before the case’s next hearing, the bench ordered Rana Shamim to submit his written statement as well as a list of witnesses to the Attorney General.
The defence lawyer’s plea was accepted by the court, and the case was delayed until March 7.
