Prime Minister Imran Khan will go to China tomorrow on a four-day visit from February 3 to 6, at the request of the Chinese leadership, to attend the Winter Olympic Games opening ceremony.
A high-level delegation, comprising Cabinet members and senior government officials, will accompany the Prime Minister.
The Olympic Games, as a worldwide event, promote global understanding, inclusion, and camaraderie among peoples.
Beijing will soon become the first city to hold the Olympic Games in both summer and winter.
The Prime Minister will attend bilateral discussions with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang during his visit.
The leaders will discuss the whole range of bilateral ties, with a special focus on enhancing trade and economic cooperation, notably the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
They’ll also have a wide-ranging discussion about important regional and worldwide topics.
It will therefore reaffirm the bilateral commitment to pushing the Pakistan-China partnership to new heights and boosting collaboration across many fields. During the visit, a number of Memorandums of Understanding and Agreements will be signed.
The Prime Minister will also meet with important Chinese business executives, as well as representatives from key Chinese think tanks, academia, and the media, while in Beijing.
On the sidelines, he’ll have other bilateral encounters.
The Prime Minister’s visit will cap off 70 years of celebrations commemorating the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with more than 140 events planned to demonstrate the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership’s resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the unfolding international situation.
