Shahzad Akbar resigned as Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s Advisor on Accountability and the Interior on Monday.

He made the statement on the social-networking platform Twitter.

“I have offered my resignation today to PM as Advisor,” Shahzad Akbar stated in a post. I truly hope that the process of accountability continues under the leadership of PM IK in accordance with the PTI agenda.”

He also claimed that he will continue to contribute as a member of the legal fraternity.

Shahzad Akbar was appointed as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Accountability and the Interior in July 2020. He formerly served as the Premier’s Special Assistant for Home Affairs.
