ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Already plagued by inflation, rising oil costs, and food prices, Pakistanis were taken aback on Thursday when the National Electric Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) decided to raise the power bill by Rs4.30 as part of the monthly fuel adjustment.
The hike in power tariffs will not affect K-Electric customers or lifeline clients, according to an order.
The increased sum will be reflected in January invoices, according to the NEPRA statement.
The increase will cost electricity customers billions of rupees more.
