LAHORE — The Pakistan Cricket Board and all six PSL franchises have agreed that each club may select two more players in the Supplementary Category for the HBL Pakistan Super League 2022, which will take place from January 27 to February 27, 2022.
Although each side is allowed to pick one international player, the move provides possibilities for local rising cricketers to experience franchise cricket, which will aid in their grooming and development. Separately, this will offer additional players to the teams if they are required for causes beyond their control.
The clubs will choose extra players in the Replacement Player Draft, which will take place by virtual session on January 7, 2022.
Karachi Kings will be the first to choose an additional player, followed by Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar. This order was determined by a random lottery.
Using the reverse order format, the second picks will be as follows: Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.
